Do budgies interact well with people?

I'm thinking about getting a budgie. But first I want to make sure they interact well with people. Like if you stroke it's feathers will it bite you? Or like does it step up on your finger? I want an affectionate bird. But I'm not sure if budgies are......does anyone know? Also how much are budgies? Thanks!!!Do budgies interact well with people?
Yes, budgies are very friendly, by comparison to other birds they socialize well and are extremely affectionate. They are a perfect bird to get especially if you can spend a lot of time with them.

However, unless you get a budgie that is hand reared from being a baby, or, get a baby one to hand rear yourself, they might be scared at first if you try and touch them.

Like humans, budgies have personalities, some are more sociable and friendly than others. It is a matter of getting the one that is right for you.

Something to take into consideration, they really are sociable, and keeping them alone isn't really fair to the bird. If you can, get two birds at least, so they can chat. They actually do chat, the male ones mimic some words with training, too :D

Budgies will step onto your finger, eat from your hand and stuff, but they might take a while to learn it is okay to do that without being hurt by you, so be patient with them.

Like a human child, if they bite, tell them 'No' and look them in the eye, dont let them get away with it.

My fiance had a budgie once, and it would fly across the room and sit on his shoulder, and eat from his mouth and everything.

SO, simple answer

YES budgies interact EXTREMELY well with people, especially the male ones - they are the only sex that can talk, too :)Do budgies interact well with people?
Budgies all have their unique personalities, so you never know what kind of personality your budgie has until you get it home. Some are very social, some are shy and nervous. It takes time to get close to your budgie and build a bond with it. You can't do this overnight. It can take months to establish a good relationship with your budgie. Some budgies enjoy a head rub, while others can't stand being touched. Most budgies can be trained to step on your finger, but some will fly away quickly while others will sit on your finger for quite some time. I've experienced all kinds of personalities with my budgies and I've seen about everything. The main thing to remember is to give your budgie love and attention and accept it for who it is.

Budgies usually cost between $15.00-20.00 at most pet stores. I've bought many of mine at Petco. Some budgies I've bought at Petland and Petsmart. You should get a written guarantee from the pet shop that the budgie you buy is healthy. That way if it's ill, you can return it within a certain amount of time (usually 5-7 days).
If you get a baby budgie, and raise it and get it use to people, it might be alright. I'm not sure how much they cost, but my friend has a few weiro

birds, and when she goes into their avery they fly on her and hop on her fingers and stuff, and she had them since they were babies, my grandad also had two and if you talk to them alot when they are babies you might be able to teach them to talk a bit, but they are not as good at learning to talk as parrots and galahs are. this is what a weiro looks like if you dont know. its a female one, the males are alot more yellow if you want a more colourful bird
