Can you sense a lack of confidence in people when you interact with them?

I was having a discussion with someone about meeting people and confidence and he expressed the opinion that people just know when others aren't confident. They can sense it like a tick and it pushes them away from that person. This would then bring about a vicious circle where the person loses more and more confidence as they fail to interact with others.

How would you end the cycle? Can you sense a lack of confidence in people when you interact with them?
Of course. Confidence is the first thing a person will notice. I disagree though that a lack of confidence would turn someone away ';like a tick';. Interactions with others is how we learn to grow in confidence and feel more self assured. Sometimes failure gives us the courage to trudge on even harder. Keep at it and you'll get on the track you want to be. Good Luck!!

A former shy galCan you sense a lack of confidence in people when you interact with them?
I don't know how to break the cycle. I sometimes lack confidence in myself but I also believe in perseverance and resiliency. I never give up and try to be more relaxed and confident about myself when I'm talking to people. But I can definitely sense other people's lack of confidence when I talk to them.I went on a date with someone and he was stuttering john the whole night because he just felt so inferior to me and couldn't muster up the courage to talk to me. It wasn't cute though, it bothered me, because I like having to guess sometimes about how people feel. This guy was a complete open book. I think to break the cycle I'd keep meeting people and get used to being around people and just feign confidence at first until you can finally feel it.
it is wrong to entrust your confidence in people long before you interact with them
Get a breast job you'll be amazed how outgoing you will become.Totally uplifting
