How safe are Outdoor / People-interacting jobs for Women in the U.A.E.?

I've heard some bad stories of women being harrassed / talked to in a perverted manner by men, when the women work in Sales / Marketing / P.R. and even TELEMARKETING jobs. Is this true?

* What happens if u r in such a job and a client tries to talk rubbish to u, also note that ur job depends on it as u have a Sales Target? How should you deal with this? How safe are Outdoor / People-interacting jobs for Women in the U.A.E.?
In the UAE working women are not harrassed more or less than in other countries. I even would say they getting harrassed less than in certain countries. If a women gets sexualy harrassed, she can take action and report the person to the police.

In the UAE many different nationalities have to work together and some males of certain nationalities have problems to accept and respect women making the same or even a higher salary than they do.

If a client talks rubbish to you, keep calm and smile. Ask the client if he/she rather would like to talk to your supervisor. Keep in mind that you have to meet your target and no client is worth to loose it.

Most important is that you represent yourself in a respectfull manner, be polite to customers, be a professional who knows what she talkes about and have some friends to talk to after work when frustrated.

To be honest, I never talk rubbish to any sales person, but have to admit that I can get kind of ';rude'; (that what my husband calls me) if I meet poorly trained staff, persons who try to talk me into something or when I receive phone calls promoting the same item for the fifth time.

Try to avoid these things.

outdoors r as safe as in any other place in the world . but statistics say its better here then most places in the world. interaction with others in profession depends on how u react to their behaviour.

its better to be calm and talk the person out of it. or ask assistance from ur supervisor.

stories r always stories unless its real incidents. and those r also soem times exagarated. these things happen every where but how the media sensationalise it depends on the reporters aptitude and how much milage they want to cover out of it .

in particular women r treated prefentially here and very politely in general. in public places in general u will have seperate Q's for ladies for express clearance

so on the whole its better then most other places.
