Do you care about the points or about asking interesting questions and interacting with people?

You know... lots of people treat Yahoo answers as a place that is just for the points...

I never really understood that because the points don't do anything for you... the benefit of the website is that you get to interact with other folks and ask/answer questions...

I usually ask more questions than post answers - and I don't really worry about the points... because WHO CARES how many points you have?

Lots of points means lots of POINTless answers and too few good questions... Do you care about the points or about asking interesting questions and interacting with people?
AMEN to that last part! lol. No, I don't give a rat's A-S-S- about the points. For me Answers is USUALLY just a place where I can get mental excercise...The brain like any muscle gets weak without a workout.

Sometimes I'll come across questions from folks in serious dilemmas when theirs is a question I can asnwer, I try to do so with as much compassion as I can. Going to the INTERNET for answers to a real problem means they likely don't have any other options. Picking on em's like pissing on a wino... Life's already done THAT!.

Other times, a question's just plain stupid or silly. I'll respond in the same tone.

Do you care about the points or about asking interesting questions and interacting with people?
I like both.

Oh, and thanks for the points!
I don't care at all about the points. I just like reading interesting questions and answers and sometimes asking or answering a few myself.
...to me it's a place to give and ask for opinions.

sure i love the point system. its great to keep track of what you accomplished here.
