How to handle rude people?

I'm really a nice person if I see nice people.

But whenever I see rude people, I get awkard, scared and weird, what to do?

How can I handle rude people and smile because the job is to interact with people by smiling back? How to handle rude people?
I agree with some of the others. Just ignore them, they want you to be as miserable as they are. I know they can make you feel like crap and embarrass you badly, but honestly, it is NOT your problem, it's theirs.

So when you encounter rude people just zone out on them.

xxxHow to handle rude people?
igonre that they r rude..be nice to them they can;t be rude for a long time
Just smile, roll your eyes and walk away. Rude people generally like how it makes them feel superior to see other people squirm. Don't give them the chance.
Tell them to **** off.
Be nice to them. They will either be nice back or get the complete SHITS
Just be overly nice to them. But on the inside you can imagine what they'd look like with their flesh peeled away.
Act nice to them...and hug them! They love that!
just keep smiling! They will eventually leave.
Sweetie...have you ever heard of ';killing people with kindness?'; Try it and see how you turn out!
Just smile back, they know they're rude. Whenever they see someone being kind or nice, they'll feel bad.
Rude people like to think they're in charge. If you don't give them that power, they can't be. They crave an audience - don't give them one.
whoever you are, if it's a job, no matter what just play it nice. no matter WHAT. if it's not a job just ignore the person. acting rude back or doing something els to someone like that is big trouble.
just do your job well and be courteous. Don't let rude people jeopardize your living, they're just lonely.
Being a rude person, I can give you some advice that might help.

Smile.

Some ';rude people'; aren't really rude, but just having a bad day or in a bad mood. Your smile could be the very thing that helps to get them back on the right track.

Regardless, your smile isn't going to hurt you or them, and you're responsible for giving it anyway. What you think behind the smile is up to you. Smiles can be polite, and sometimes secretive.
Ugh, I would hate your job... Been there and done that. I treat them like they are five years old. Treat them like you would treat a spoiled child and definitely don't let their rude behaviour stick with you... As soon as they're gone you should wipe them from your memory.
Ignoring them is their kryptonite. Carry on with your work and smile as a way of waving.
You are stating you are a nice person, if you see a nice person. Why don't you be nice all the time. Why is someone elses character affecting yours?

You just ignore rude people by ignoring them and not by giving back a fake smile.
i find it's much easier to smile at rude people if you administer a proper *****-slap first.
Print out a picture of something nasty but non

offensive. Like a baby spitting up or a one nostriled

man snorting coke. Then flash it to people who are rude

and say, ';thank god you're not THIS antisocial loser!';

Then unleash the CHUDs
Dont let anyone push you around or be rude to you. Once some sees you get shy and awkard they will keep on doing it.

Now if its your job you just have to suck up even if they are rude. Just think about the money.
Most rude people are the ones who are very problematic. You should have a mindset that you are not the one who has the problem, so be thankful for it. Just ignore the bad things that they are doing. If you are doing your best for your job, dont be scared because you can justify your good acts.
It sounds like you have the basic good ol' customer service job...retail, right? I am glad you didn't say you carried a gun. Awkward, weird and scared are pretty normal feelings when trying to deal with rude people.

I find listening helps...(warning, you may hear more than you want to.) But seriously, when you show people you are interested in them, sometimes they will knock off the ...

If not, remember it probably doesn't have anything to do with YOU! So approach it from that perspective and find a way to help them...even just out of the store. Trust yourself, you have a job and you are going to do it well, right? While there, that's all that matters.
Keep smiling and dont loose your cool.
Just keep what you have been doing, ';Smile';. As you mention, you have no option since it is part of your job. Good luck !!!!
i myself working in PEL A/C deptt. %26amp; oftenly i have to handle very rude and difficult people. i adopted smile policy and i give due respect to everyone. i never use any harsh word with any one. Now those people respect me a lot. and i m enjoying my position now. I m in good books of the people. So i would tell u alway be polite, keep smiling, use good words, call people from their names. Have proper dressing as well.
